Glossary of Terms

Acne - Acne is a disease of the sebacceous glands which are designed to lubricate our hair and skin. It is the blockage of these glands that leads to acne.

Carboxytherapy Facial - Infuses carbon dioxide into the skin via a gel and activating mask.  Oxygen flow is improved which promotes natural growth factors resulting in elastin stimulation, tissue tightening, skin rejuvenation, a reduction in dark circles and an improvement in circulation and lymphoid drainage.

Chemical Peel - Technique to improve and smooth the texture of skin.

Dermaplaning Facial - exfoliation of the skin by the use of a surgical blade. The top layer of skin is removed along with vellous hair leaving a soft glowing complexion.

Eyelash Lift - An eyelash lift creates a permanent wave to the eyelashes using perming and neutralising products similar to a hair perm but for the eyelashes.

Eyelash or Eyebrow Tint - colours the eyebrows or lashes with a chemical dye.

Facial - skincare treatment for your face to remove impurities and add appropriate products into the skin depending on skin concerns.

Gel Nails - A nail vanish applied to the nails and set with a LED or UV lamp.  This vanish typically stays of the nails without chipping for 2 weeks.  Needs to be removed with acetone.

Galvanic Desincrustation - Electrotherapy Treatment to deep clean the skin removing sebum and dead skin cells

Galvanic Iontophoresis - Electrotherapy Treatment to draw products into the skin for a variety of skin concerns.

Henna Brows- a natural dye applied to the eyebrows to colour the hairs.

High Frequency Facial is an advanced facial technique that uses electrical currents to kill bacteria and rejuvenative the skin and improve dark circles and puffy eyes.

Lymphatic Drainage - A type of massage that will encourage the natural drainage of the lymph, which carries waste products away from the tissue back towards the heart.

Microcurrent Facial - also know as the non-surgical facelift.  Microcurrent stimulates your facial muscles for a natural lift.  It also tightens skin and improves skin texture.

Microneedling - Also known as collagen induction therapy is a cosmetic procedure that involves puncturing the skin with tiny needles to repair the skin of scarring, hyperpigmentation, pigmentation, fine lines and wrinkles, enlarged pores and increase collagen and elastin in the skin.

Manicure - A manicure is a cosmetic beauty treatment in which your fingernails are cut and shaped the cuticles are tided and then the nails are painted.  A hand massage and mask may also be applied.

Waxing - A hair removal treatment where the hairs are removed from the roots.
